How an issue and a return work

Add every item
Firearms, radios, vests and torches, each with its own serial number or tag.

Issue it
Pick the officer. Patrolly checks that their firearm competency is valid. Count the rounds, then both people sign on the screen.

Return it
Count the rounds again and check the condition. A difference in the count is flagged straight away.

See who holds what
The register shows every item, who has it and since when. Items that are not returned are flagged.

Competency check
An officer whose firearm competency has expired cannot be issued a firearm. The date comes from the permit tracker.
Round counts
Rounds out and rounds back are written down at every issue and return, so a missing round shows up.
A full history
Every issue and return stays on record. Search by serial number, officer or date, and print or save any list as a PDF.
Nothing is left to memory
At the end of a shift the register shows what is still out. Nobody has to remember who took the radio on Wednesday.
